Privacy policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal data.

Who we are

LA POIANA CU CETATE S.R.L. (tax ID (CUI) 50720768, Trade Register no. J2024032301001, registered at 14A Principala Street, Poiana cu Cetate village, Grajduri commune, Iași county, Romania), which runs La Poiana, takes the privacy of its visitors seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how LA POIANA CU CETATE S.R.L. ("we") collects, uses and shares your personal information, and the rights you have over that data.

This policy applies to every visitor of la-poiana.ro and to our related services (together, the "services"). It does not override the terms of any contract you have with us, or any other rights you may have under applicable data protection law.

Please read this policy before using our services. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact us at lapoianacucetate@gmail.com.

1. Collecting and using information

We collect several types of information, for different purposes, in order to provide and improve our services.

Personal data

When you send us a booking request or contact us, we may ask for information that can be used to contact or identify you ("personal data"):

  • First and last name
  • Phone number
  • Email address (optional)
  • Your preferred dates, number of guests and any notes you add

Usage data

Only if we turn on traffic statistics, and only with your consent, we may collect information about how the site is used ("usage data"): browser type and version, pages visited, date and time of the visit, time spent on pages and other diagnostic data. This helps us analyse and improve our services.

2. The booking form and WhatsApp

The form on this site does not send or store data on a server. It composes a message that you send yourself through WhatsApp; from that moment, the data travels through the WhatsApp service, under its own privacy policy. We use it only to answer your request and to arrange your stay or event.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file made of letters and numbers, stored on the computer, phone or other device you use to access the internet. It is set by a server through your browser and is completely "passive": it contains no software, viruses or spyware and cannot access the information on your device.

A cookie has two parts, a name and a value, and a set lifetime. Only the server that sent it can read it again, when you return to that site. By lifetime, cookies are:

  • Session cookies: stored temporarily and deleted automatically when you close the browser.
  • Persistent cookies: kept on your device until they expire or until you delete them.

What this site uses

  • Preferences: the site remembers in your browser your choice in the cookie banner, so it doesn't ask on every visit, and that the opening animation has already played in the current session. This information is not sent to us or to anyone else.
  • Maps (Google Maps): the maps on the Contact and Explore pages are provided by Google, which may set its own cookies. We only load them after you consent, or when you press "Show the map".
  • Statistics (Google Analytics): if enabled, analytics cookies show us the number of visitors and how often they come back, so we can improve the site. They only load after you consent.

The site does not use advertising, geotargeting or login cookies.

How you can control cookies

You can accept or decline cookies in the banner shown on your first visit, and change your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. You can also set your browser to refuse all cookies or to warn you when one is sent; in that case some parts of the site, such as the maps, may not work. For details, see:

4. How we use data

LA POIANA CU CETATE S.R.L. uses the data it collects for:

  • Answering booking requests and arranging your stay or event
  • Providing and maintaining our services
  • Letting you know about changes to your booking
  • Customer support
  • Analysis to improve our services, only with your consent to statistics
  • Monitoring and preventing technical problems and illegal activity

We process data to answer your booking request (steps prior to a contract), to meet our legal obligations and, for optional cookies, on the basis of your consent. We do not sell your data or use it for marketing.

5. Data transfers

Some of the providers we use may process data outside the European Economic Area: Netlify for hosting the site, WhatsApp (Meta) for messages and Google for maps and, if enabled, statistics. These transfers rely on the safeguards set out in the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses.

6. Disclosure of data

LA POIANA CU CETATE S.R.L. may disclose your data, in good faith, for purposes such as:

  • Complying with legal obligations
  • Protecting the rights and property of LA POIANA CU CETATE S.R.L.
  • Preventing wrongdoing or protecting the safety of our guests

7. Data security

While we make every effort to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We use recognised security methods, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Service providers

We may work with third-party companies that help us provide our services, including hosting, monitoring and analysis. These providers access data only to carry out specific tasks and are bound not to use it for any other purpose.

Statistics

If we turn on Google Analytics to monitor traffic, it only runs with your consent, with your IP address anonymised and without advertising features. You can also opt out at any time with the official browser add-on:

9. How long we keep data

We keep the data related to a booking request only for as long as needed to provide the services you asked for and to meet our legal obligations, such as accounting.

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict processing, to data portability and to object, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time. For any request, write to us at lapoianacucetate@gmail.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian data protection authority (ANSPDCP):

11. Links to other sites

The site contains links to external sites we do not run, such as Booking.com, Google Maps or social networks. We have no control over their policies and take no responsibility for their content or practices. We recommend reading the privacy policy of every site you visit.

12. Children's privacy

Booking requests can only be sent by people over 18. Children are welcome as guests, accompanied by adults, but we do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that we have received data from a minor without parental consent, we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any change will be published on this page, together with the date of the last revision.

14. Contact
